Now I am really about to blow a fuse! And big time!

What does the gathering on the photo below look like to you? A drinks reception with wine and cheese? Or a work meeting? By the way, this gathering took apparently place in May 2020, when the rest of the British population was in lockdown and asked to limit the number of people they could meet indoors and outdoors.

I guess for any halfway sensible individual this clearly is a drinks reception, yet Dominic Raab, the British deputy Prime Minister on Sky News was adamant that this was a work meeting, since people were wearing suits (well, some of them anyway…).

I attend a fair amount of work meetings, and although not everyone is wearing suits, in all the work meetings I have attended over the past 40 years, there were laptops, documents, pads, pens as well as maybe coffee cups and glasses of water on the table….. not wine and cheese. And clearly there is no work related paraphernalia in sight here!

Now either the people who run the UK and are supposed to lead by example manage to run the country without any documents and/or computers (haven’t we all been dreaming for years about the paperless office?!) or the British population, after all the shenanigans with Dominic Cumming’s trip to Barnard Castle (a beauty spot hundreds of miles from his London home and office) and the various Christmas parties (there was even one held in the office of the chap who was supposed to investigate the yuletide knees-up at Number 10) are clearly taking us for fools.

Then again, looking at the photograph of this so called work meeting, I realise that working at Number 10 must be a doddle, since even the Prime Minister now said, that his people were talking about work: I would love to work in such beautiful surroundings, with smiley colleagues while drinking wine and eating cheese. Or is it that, because a lot of time seems to be spent partying, this government is in such an abysmal state?

Maybe we should do with this government what Westminster Council is doing after 9 January with the ‘Marble Arch Mound’ : Since they are equally shambolic, dismantle them both!
